About Krista

My name is Krista Scott, and I am an Instructional Technology Specialist at Region 17 Education Service Center.  I have a passion for learning and technology and feel privileged to have a job that allows me to combine both!

Prior to this position, I was a Curriculum Technologist and Business Teacher at Frenship High School.  I have had the opportunity to teach a great variety of business classes and to be an online instructor.  I am a Certified Online Instructor for TxVSN  and love working with teachers throughout the region to incorporate technology and blended learning in their classrooms!

I am married to a science nerd, I mean teacher, that I enjoy sharing my passion for education with.  We have four wonderful children that are the core of our lives:)

Hi Krista! Thanks for the blog and for all of your advice in helping me learn more about technology! It is definitely my weakness! By the way, we share the same anniversary, March 6, only I’ve got 12 years on you! :)

I wanted to let you know about a new teacher resource site — “TeacherZone”. TeacherZone has thousands of free math video lessons for Grades 3-10. It’s available at http://teacher.tenmarks.com

I started a company (TenMarks) with a friend, and as parents, we wanted to make it easier for other parents to help their kids with math. With the feedback we received from teachers, we decided to release all the 1000′s of video lessons we had created for the company – so teachers could use them – free. They can use it in class, share it with kids, parents, and even embed it as homework help.

We’ve already had hundreds of teachers/parents sign up for the service yesterday, and the feedback has been just phenomenal. Teachers love how they can use the videos in class, share with parents and kids to help them explain the concepts after school. Parents who’ve used TeacherZone like how they can quickly find the right lesson, and show it to the kids, share it by email and other ways.

If possible, can you let your community know about the site? I figured some might benefit from our hard work.

I’d also love to get your feedback on the site. If you have a few minutes, can you please check it out. http://teacher.tenmarks.com

    Thanks

    Andrew

I am a writer for onlinedegrees.org and I am including your site in an upcoming post about the top 100 technology blogs for teachers. I was wondering if you could send me an e-mail so I could ask you more questions about your blog. Please include the title of your blog in the e-mail, thanks!
